Willard G. 'Bill' Manewal
Willard G. "Bill" Manewal,
89, 1213 Grove, retired system supervisor for Santa Fe Railroad,
retiring in 1974, died Thursday (June 10, 1999) at Newton Medical
Center.
He was born Oct. 3, 1909, in Marceline,
Mo., to Charles and Bessie (Soph) Manewal. He married Bernice Shoot
Sept. 10, 1931, in Trenton, Mo. She preceded him in death April 1,
1985.
He moved to Newton in 1950.
Survivors include: two daughters, Jan
Cornies of Newton and Judy Foley of Edmond, Okla.; one brother, James
Manewal of Moberly, Mo.; three sisters, Theresa Ladika of
Pennsylvania, Emma Garner of Columbia, Mo., and Charlene Garner of
Marceline, Mo.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m.
Monday at Greenwood Cemetery with Chaplain Louise MacClanahan
officiating. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 9
p.m. Sunday at Petersen Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with
Fellowship of John Kansas Christian Home in care of the funeral home.
