Elsie L. Gingerich
SOUTH HUTCHINSON -- Elsie L. Gingerich,
78, formerly of South Hutchinson, retired cook, died Monday (June 14,
1999) at Friendly Acres Retirement Community in Newton.
She was born Aug. 10, 1920, in
Hutchinson to Ezra Aaron Schott and Charlotte B. Lottie
Neuenschwander. She married Fred E. Gingerich June 28, 1941, in
Hutchinson. He preceded her in death June 10, 1997.
She was a lifelong South Hutchinson
resident, moving to Newton in 1995. She was a graduate of Hutchinson
High School. She was a member of South Hutchinson United Methodist
Church, Women of the Moose Hutchinson Chapter No. 1371, and American
Association of Retired Persons.
Survivors include: two sons, Lyle D.
Gingerich of Newton and Douglas K. Gingerich of Tuttle, Okla.; one
daughter, Kathy F. Kennedy of Yukon, Okla.; two brothers, David
Schott of Mulvane and Melvin Schott of Hutchinson; two sisters, Irene
Casey of Hutchinson and Marie Stringer of Topeka; nine grandchildren;
seven great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. She also
was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Toni Rene Gingerich
Jones; and one great-granddaughter, Michelle Tebow.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m.
Friday at South Hutchinson United Methodist Church with Pastor Tom D.
Sheldon officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in
Hutchinson. Friends may call until 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Thursday at Elliott Mortuary in Hutchinson.
