Karen Diane Griswold
NORTH WALES, Pa. -- Karen Diane
Griswold, 56, teacher, died Tuesday (June 22, 1999) at her home in
North Wales, Pa.
She was born May 2, 1943, in Newton to
O.B. and Naomi (Brubacher) Krehbiel. Her mother survives of North
Newton. She married Don Griswold Aug. 28, 1965. He survives of North
Wales, Pa.
She was a 1961 graduate of Newton High
School. She received her bachelor of science in biology and American
Society of Clinical Pathologists certification as a medical
technologist from Emporia State University and Via Christi Regional
Medical Center, St. Francis Campus in Wichita. She was an employee at
Communicable Disease Center in Kansas City. She lived in Pennsylvania
in 1974, moving to North Wales in 1976. She ran a craft business,
along with flower arranging and tax preparation.
She received her masters degree in
psychology from Chestnut Hill College in 1992. She taught at The
Pathway School in Jeffersonville, Pa., and volunteered at the
Sanctuary United Methodist Church in North Wales.
Other survivors include: two sons,
Brian Griswold of North Wales, Pa., and Darren Griswold of
Philadelphia; grandmother, "Nan" Brubacher of Newton; one
sister, Barbara Stucky of Denver; and one brother, Brad Krehbiel of
Shawnee. She was preceded in death by her father.
Memorial service will be at 1 p.m.
Saturday at Sanctuary United Methodist Church in North Wales. A
gathering in the social hall will follow the service.
