Ada May Sparke

KINSLEY -- Ada May Sparke, 90, of Kinsley, former secretary, died Sunday (July 18, 1999) at Presbyterian Manor in Newton.

She was born July 3, 1909, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to LeRoy L. and Lillie J. (Overholser) Zion. She married Elmer R. Sparke Sept. 1, 1927, in Colorado Springs. He preceded her in death April 22, 1981.

She was a longtime Kinsley resident. She was a member of United Methodist Church and Delta Kappa Gamma, both of Kinsley.

Survivors include: two sons, Elmer Sparke of Kinsley and John Sparke of Prairie Village; two daughters, Shirley Carpenter of Newton and Carol Casey of Topeka; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church in Kinsley with the Rev. David Bell officiating. Burial will be in the Fellsburg Cemetery in Lewis. Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at McKillip Memorial Funeral Home in Kinsley.

Memorials have been established with United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
