Martha Almeda Schmidt
INMAN -- Martha Almeda Schmidt, 78,
died Sunday (July 25, 1999) at Newton Medical Center in Newton.
She was born March 8, 1921, in Midland,
Mich., to Martin M. Aand Mary (Butz) Yoder. She married Nick A.
Schmidt June 10, 1951, in Harper. He survives.
She graduated from Hesston College. She
was a school teacher in Clearwater for 14 years. She was a lifetime
Inman resident. She was a member of the Hebron Mennonite Church in
Buhler, the Bluebird Club and the Women's Mission Circle.
Other survivors include: one son,
Steven A. Schmidt of Buhler; three daugthers, Mary Claycamp of
Wetmore, Deborah Unruh of Newton and Becky Beebe of Norfolk, Va.;
three sisters, Mable Yoder of Wichita, Inez Hockett of Norwich and
Betty Jean Eshnaur of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and eight
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two
brothers, Reuben Yoder and Paul Marvin Yoder.
Graveside services will be 9:30 a.m.
Wednesday at North Inman Cemetery in Inman with a memorial service to
follow at 11 a.m. at Hebron Mennonite Church in Buhler with Pastor
Walter Friesen presiding.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Buhler
Mortuary in Buhler.
