Beulah Mae Garber
HESSTON -- Beulah Mae Garber, 95, of
Hesston, died today (Aug. 26, 1999) at Newton Medical Center.
She was born May 25, 1904, to Charles
Oliver and Lydia Alice (Yoder) Hartzler. She married Ray Garber June
18, 1930. He preceded her in death Sept. 6, 1988.
She and her husband moved to Minnesota
in 1945, from Missouri, where they ran a dairy farm for 25 years. In
1970 they retired to Denver, where they enjoyed traveling and other
recreational activities. She also enjoyed baking pies and serving
guests for dinner.
She traveled the Alaskan highway twice,
visited the edge of the Artic Circle in Northern Canada and fished in
the high mountain lakes of Colorado. She moved from Lakewood, Colo.,
to Schowalter Villa in Hesston in 1992. She was a member of Glennon
Heights Mennonite Church in Lakewood, Colo.
Survivors include: one daughter, JoAnn
Jantz of Greensburg; two sons, Larry Garber and Ron Garber, both of
Hesston; one sister, Dorothy Newkirk of May City, Iowa; four
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m.
Sunday at Schowalter Villa Chapel in Hesston with the Rev. Wesley
Jantz officiating. Graveside service and burial will be at 10 a.m.
Monday at Soldier Creek Cemetery in Belvidere.
Friends may call from from 5 to 8 p.m.
Saturday at Miller Funeral Home in Hesston. Memorials have been
established with Glennon Heights Mennonite Church in care of the
funeral home.
