Ruth E. Adams
Ruth E. Adams, 90, 200 S.W. 14th, died
Friday (Aug. 27, 1999) at Newton Medical Center.
She was born March 3, 1909, in Cheston
Ridge, N.Y., to Frank C. and Mary (Kearney) Adams.
She was a member of First United
Methodist Church in Abilene. She attended Fort Hays State College,
Washburn University and graduated from Emporia State Teachers College
with a bachelor of science in elementary education. She taught Holton
Elementary for 16 years, Bonner Springs for six years and Tonganoxie
for one year, moving to Abilene, where she taught from 1966 to 1969.
Survivors include numerous nieces and
nephews. There were no immediate survivors.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m.
Tuesday at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Elmhurst, Ill., with the Rev. Michael
Toburen from Yorkfield Presbyterian Church in Elmhurst officiating.
Memorials have been established with
Friendly Acres Retirement Community in care of Broadway Colonial
Funeral Home.
