James P. Wiebe
James P. Wiebe, 71, 611 E. Broadway,
died Monday (Sept. 13, 1999) at Newton Medical Center.
He was born July 18, 1928, in Hillsboro
to P.K. and Elsie L. (Schroeder) Wiebe. He married Charlotte McNolty
April 4, 1954, in Walton. She survives of Newton.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving
during the Occupation of Germany from 1951 to 1953. He worked as a
marketing representative at Weyerhaeuser Co. in Newton. After
retiring, he worked at Amoco stations in Newton.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign
Wars Whitsell-Finnell Post No. 971 in Newton. He attended St. Luke
Presbyterian Church in Newton, and he enjoyed golfing.
Other survivors include: one son, Kevin
Wiebe of Flagstaff, Ariz.; two daughters, Marcy Wiebe and Lori Wiebe,
both of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; two sisters, Inez Koehn of North Newton
and Ruth Regehr of Hutchinson; one granddaughter; and many nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister,
Ethlyn Goertz.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
Thursday at St. Luke Presbyterian Church with Pastor David Keazirian
officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Friends may call until 9 p.m. today and
9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday with family greeting friends from 7 to 8
p.m. Wednesday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with
Central Homecare and Hospice and St. Luke Presbyterian Church in care
of the funeral home.
