Elinor I. Spangler

WICHITA -- Elinor I. Spangler, 95, of Wichita, a former Walton resident, died Wednesday (Sept. 22, 1999) at Riverside Hospital in Wichita.

She was born Feb. 18, 1904, in Wilmington, Ind., to Arthur Emery and Mary (Goss) Vincent. She married Earl Spangler Aug. 12, 1950, in St. John. He preceded her in death June 30, 1973.

She was a 10 year food service preparer for USD 259 in Wichita, retiring June 1971. She was a member of Walton Methodist Church in Walton and St. Luke United Methodist Church in Wichita.

Survivors include: a son-in-law, Jethro "Jack" Erwin Jr. of Wichita; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Margaret Rae Erwin and Mae Louise Hiebert; one brother, two sisters and one grandson.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home with Pastor C. Kent Rogers from Salem United Methodist Church in Newton officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday with family greeting friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
