Garry Olen Stukey III, 54of Newton, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita. He was born February 9. 1960 in Salina to G. O. Stukey Jr. and Donna Stukey. He was baptized March 28, 1971 at the First Baptist Church in Newton.
Garry was a 1978 graduate of Newton High School and also graduated from Colorado Springs Electrical JATC in Colorado Springs, Dolorado where he successfully obtained his journeyman electricans degree and license. He was a a member of the IBEW Local #271.
He was an avid sports fan and a huge die-hard KU Jayahawkks basketball fan. He also enjoyed and listened to all types of music.
Survivors: parents, G. O. Stukey Jr. and Donna, of Newton; his fiancee, Janice Nesser of Newton' his children, daughter Stephanie (Andy) Speagle of Wellington and son, Travis (Eve) Stukey of Wichita; grandchildren; sister Marla (Mark) Smith of Newton; brother, Gregg (Robin) Stukey of Newton. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer and Martha Brichacek of Lucas and Gerald and Ella Stukey of Newton.
Services were held April 14 at First Baptist Church in Newton. A family private inuurnment will take place at a later date.
