Helen Vivian Miller

HESSTON -- Helen Vivian Miller, 79, of Hesston, died Monday (Oct. 11, 1999) at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.

She was born Jan. 10, 1920, in Minneapolis, Kan., to George L. and Anna H. (Foster) Miller.

She grew up in the Wells and Minneapolis communities. She moved to Galveston, Texas, where she worked as a receptionist and secretary for the U.S. Labor Department for more than 20 years. After retiring, she moved to Hesston in 1983.

She attended Pacific Bible College in Huntington, Calif., and also attended Taylor University in Upland, Ind.

Survivors include: one brother, Philip Miller of Rio Rancho, N.M.; one sister, Myrna Stevenson of Cordova, Tenn.; four nieces; and five nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Chester Miller.

Graveside services and burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Bennington Cemetery in Bennington. Memorial services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at Golden Plains Free Methodist Church in rural Newton. Family will greet friends at the church from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Memorials have been established with Golden Plains Free Methodist Church or charity of choice in care of Miller Funeral Home in Hesston.
