Floyd P. Gehring
MOUNDRIDGE -- Floyd P. Gehring, 68, of
Moundridge, auctioneer and owner of Gehring Real Estate and Auction,
died Saturday (Oct. 16, 1999) in rural McPherson County as a result
of an automobile accident.
He was born March 18, 1931, in Harvey
County to Peter J.C. and Anna J. (Stucky) Gehring. He married Jane W.
Waltner July 2, 1950, in Moundridge. She survives of Moundridge.
He was a lifetime Moundridge area
resident. He was a graduate of Moundridge High School. He was a
member and former chairperson of Eden Mennonite Church in rural
Moundridge, member and past president of Moundridge Lions Club and
Kansas State Auctioneers Association, where he was former board
member.
He also was a member of National
Auctioneers Associations and planning and development committee and
finance committee for Memorial Home for the Aged in Moundridge.
He was a former member of Mennonite
Central Committee Relief Sale board for 20 years and was a life
member of McPherson Opera House Association.
Other survivors include: two sons,
Dennis D. Gehring and Dick A. Gehring, both of Moundridge; two
daughters, Bonnie J. Voth of Newton and Peggy J. Schoenecker of
Moundridge; step mother, Ann Gehring of Moundridge; four brothers,
Marlo Gehring and Bob Gehring, both of Moundridge, Leroy Gehring of
Buhler and Kenneth Gehring of Burrton; two sisters, Leona Wall of
Buhler and Marlene Thode of Hutchinson; eight grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday at Eden Mennonite Church in rural Moundridge with Pastors
Lee Lever and Donovan Graber officiating. Burial will be in the Eden
Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at
Moundridge Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with
Eden Mennonite Church, Memorial Home or Mennonite Central Committee
in care of the funeral home.
