Ruth Farris Nunns
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Ruth Farris Nunns, 79,
of Oklahoma City, homemaker, died Friday (Nov. 19, 1999) at Oklahoma
Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She was the mother of Mike
Nunns of Newton.
She was born Feb. 4, 1920, in Pittsburg
to John and Cuffa (Nicholas) Farris. She married Lloyd E. Nunns July
29, 1939, in Pittsburg. He survives of Oklahoma City.
She was a member of Christ the King
Catholic Church and Altar Society, both of Oklahoma City. She was
past member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newton.
She enjoyed playing bridge, bingo and
cooking.
Other survivors include: three other
sons, Lloyd F. Nunns of Hutchinson, Capt. William Nunns of
Gaithersburg, M.D., and James Nunns of Hutchinson; one daughter,
Beverly Nunns Winans of Dodge City; two brothers, John Farris of Salt
Lake City, Utah, and Joseph Farris of Byron, Ill.; two sisters,
Elizabeth Bergant of Joplin, Mo., and Bonnie Correll of St. Joseph,
Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; three brothers, Nick Farris, Henry Farris and Paul Farris;
and one sister, Kay Vannoy.
Recitation of Rosary will be 7 p.m.
today at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newton. Funeral services will
be 10 a.m. Tuesday also at the church with Father Ken Schuckman
officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in
Newton.
Friends may call until 5 p.m. today at
Petersen Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with
American Cancer Society and American Heart Fund in care of the
funeral home.
