Melvin V. Gaeddert
HESSTON -- Melvin V. Gaeddert, 80, of
Hesston, former engineer for Hay and Forage in Hesston, died Monday
(Nov. 22, 1999) at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
He was born Aug. 2, 1919, in Nowata,
Okla., to Peter R. and Lena (Janzen) Gaeddert. He married Velda Unrau
May 21, 1942, in Goessel. She preceded him in death July 29, 1995.
He was a member of First Mennonite
Church in Newton. He enjoyed golf, woodworking and fishing.
Survivors include: two sons, Gary
Gaeddert of Newton and Arlee Gaeddert of Portland, Maine; two
brothers, Elmer Gaeddert of Buhler and John Gaeddert of North Newton;
one sister, Velma Stoetz of Mountain Lake, Minn.; four grandchildren;
and two great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by two
sisters, Erma Goering and Lorene Balzer.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m.
Saturday at First Mennonite Church in Newton with Pastor Clarence
Rempel officiating. Burial will be in the Restlawn Gardens of Memory.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday with family greeting friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at
Petersen Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with
Mennonite Central Committee or Habitat for the Humanities in care of
the funeral home.
