Thelma Unruh
LAHOMA, Okla. -- Thelma Unruh, 80, of
Lahoma, Okla., died Thursday (Nov. 25, 1999) in Newton. She was the
mother of Debbie Schmidt of Newton.
Thelma Pekrul was born Dec. 27, 1918,
in Goltry, Okla., to Harry and Malinda (Buller) Pekrul. She married
Walter Unruh Aug. 27, 1936, in Goltry. She was a homemaker but worked
for about 10 years at a women's clothing store in Enid. She was a
member of the New Hopedale Mennonite Church in Meno, Okla.
Survivors include her husband of Enid;
two daughters, Debbie Schmidt of Newton and Bonnie Fey of Junction
City; two brothers, Melvin Pekrul of Lockhart, Texas, and Hart Pekrul
of Goltry; one sister, Bette Boutwell of Del City, Okla.; six
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m.
Tuesday at New Hopedale Mennonite Church in Meno with the Rev. Larry
Brashear officiating. Burial will precede the service at Karoma
Cemetery in Goltry.
Memorials may be sent to the Oklahoma
Research Center Division of Alzheimer's or Cancer in care of the
Anderson-Burris Funeral Home in Enid.
