Ruby Adeline Peterson
WHITEWATER -- Ruby Adeline Peterson,
92, of Whitewater, grade school teacher and homemaker, died Wednesday
(Jan. 5, 2000) at Whitewater.
She was born Aug. 22, 1907, in rural
Sedgwick to David and Ellen (Giles) Cave. She married Everett
Peterson Oct. 6, 1945, in Wichita. He preceded her in death.
She attended school at Sedgwick and
Emporia State Teachers College, where she obtained her teaching
certificate. She taught one year at Cottage School in Sedgwick County
and 12 years at Pleasant Ridge School in Harvey County. After
teaching for 13 years, she went to work for Boeing Aircraft during
World War II.
She attended Sedgwick Methodist Church
and later Furley Methodist Church, where she was pianist for 10
years. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and Kids Club,
both of Whitewater.
Survivors include: one daughter, Marcia
Roth of Whitewater; three grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
She also was preceded in death by one
sister, Berdena Mae Dearmore; and twin brother, Ray Allison Cave.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m.
Saturday at Bob Lamb Funeral Home Chapel in Whitewater with Pastor
Arnold Ensz officiating. Burial will be in the Green Valley Cemetery
in Furley.
Friends may call until 8:30 p.m. today
and 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials have been established with
Wheat State Manor in Whitewater in care of the funeral home.
Bill, The funeral service time and
visitation time needs to be in there if all possible, even though it
is today. I screwed up the obit yesterday and Broadway chewed me out
this morning. They want the times in there for their records. If you
