Alvin Jantz
HESSTON -- Alvin Jantz, 87, of Hesston,
former meat cutter for Stucky's IGA, died Sunday (Jan. 9, 2000) at
Newton Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 28, 1912, in Galva to
Isaac and Carrie (Koehn) Jantz. He married Ann Neufeld May 29, 1946,
in Inman. She preceded him in death Feb. 9, 1985.
He was a Hesston resident for three
years, moving from Moundridge. He was a member of First Mennonite
Church of Christian in Moundridge.
Survivors include: one son, Marlin
Jantz of Hesston; two daughters, Lois Neufeld of Andover and Sharon
Showalter of Linville, Va.; three brothers, Cleo Jantz of Idabel,
Okla., Arnold Jantz of Foley, Ala., and Harvey Jantz of Hesston; two
sisters, Sadie Decker of Peabody and Elda Smith of Colorado Springs,
Colo.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m.
Wednesday at First Mennonite Church of Christian in Moundridge with
Pastors Gordon Allaby and Ron Rich officiating. Burial will be in the
church cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today
at Moundridge Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with
American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
