Ione Stuart
Ione Stuart, 90, of Newton, died
Thursday (Jan. 20, 2000) at Friendly Acres Retirement Community.
She was born March 23, 1909, in Furley
to Frederick and Emma (Jacobson) Schuessler. She married Clifford M.
Stuart June 9, 1933, in Furley. He preceded her in death March 11,
1959.
She was a member of First Baptist
Church in Newton. She was a nurse for several nursing homes in the
Newton area. She enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include: two daughters,
Loraine M. Covalt of Newton and Emma Mae Litton of Whitewater; two
sons, Fredrick C. Stuart of Hesston and Kenneth R. Stuart of Wichita;
eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one
great-great-grandchild.
She also was preceded in death by three
brothers, Ernest Schuessler, Fredrick Schuessler and Herbert
Schuessler.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m.
Saturday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Voth
from Grace Hill Mennonite Church in rural Newton officiating. Burial
will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today
and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials have been established with
Friendly Acres Retirement Community in care of the funeral home.
