Obituary

SEDGWICK - Kenneth E. Krauss, 79, farmer and stockman, died Monday, April 21, 2014, on the family farm.

He was born March 23, 1935, in Lakin Township to Jacob G. and Esther F. (Schwarz) Krauss.

He was a member of Halstead Baptist Church and was a graduate of Bentley High School. On March 1, 1958, he married Jessie Y. Smith at Kansas City, Mo. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include son: Russell (Faith) Krauss, Sedgwick; daughters: Deanna (Dan) Woodard, Carstairs, Alberta, Canada, Karen (Keith) Hainline, Oklahoma City; brother: Karl (Dorothy) Krauss, Halstead; sisters: Maxine Shirk and Virginia Miller, Sedgwick, Faye (Frank) Rennolet, Wichita, Carolyn Krauss, Dewey, Okla., Doris (Bill) Kolb, O'Fallon, Mo.; grandsons: Joseph, Jacob and Jonathon Woodard, Chad, Philip, Kenneth and Joshua Hainline, and Jared and Jace Krauss; and granddaughters: Melissa Hainline and Alyssa Krauss.

He was preceded in death by a brother: William Krauss.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2014, at Halstead Baptist Church, with Pastor Ed Blanchette officiating. Burial will follow at Halstead Cemetery, Halstead.

Memorials may be given to Halstead Baptist Church, in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
