Obituary

Doris E. Cherry, 79, passed away May 10, 2014, at Pine Village.

She was born Sept. 24, 1934, at Bessie, Okla., to Ernest and Anna Krause Koch. She was a custodian. She married Benny Cherry on Aug. 7, 1954, at Newton. He passed away Sept. 24, 2004.

Survivors includes three sons, Robert W. Cherry, Moundridge, Stanley D. Cherry, Salina, Rick S. Cherry, Newton; two daughters, Phyllis Leppke, Norman, Okla., Karen Showalter, Mulvane; two brothers, Glen Koch, Moundridge, Vernon Koch, McPherson; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Moundridge Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mound Township Cemetery.  Memorial donations are suggested to the church or Pine Village, in care of the funeral home.
