Alfred W. 'Fritz' Schmidt
EUREKA -- Alfred W. "Fritz"
Schmidt, 75, died Saturday (Jan. 22, 2000) at his home in Eureka.
He was born April 2, 1924, in Newton to
Daniel Willard and Carrie Rose Schmidt. He married Betty Louise
Pruner May 22, 1949, in Wichita. She survives of Eureka.
He lived in Newton, Whitewater and
Augusta. He was a 1938 graduate of Augusta High School. He moved to
Wichita. He worked at Beech and Coleman along with farming. He moved
to Eureka in 1961.
He had been a member of Loraine Avenue
Mennonite Church in Wichita and was a member of First United
Methodist Church in Eureka.
Other survivors include: three sons,
Mark Schmidt of Hastings, Mich., Brian Schmidt of Eureka and Paul
Schmidt of Goddard; one brother, Bill Schmidt of Andover; four
sisters, Ethel Walker of Newton, Esther Doyle of Scottsdale, Ariz.,
Lu Peters of Haysville and Hilda Speck of Wichita; and seven
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents
and five brothers.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m.
Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Eureka with the Rev. Jim
Bush officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka.
