Donald E. Moore
Donald E. Moore, 78, former printer for
the Wichita Eagle and The Newton Kansan, died Wednesday (Jan. 26,
2000) at his residence in Newton.
He was a native Kansan, born July 2,
1921, in Smith Center to Randall and Elizabeth (Medcalf) Moore. He
married Josephine P. O'Neill April 26, 1945, in Derry, Northern
Ireland. She survives of Newton.
He was a member of International
Typographical Union in Wichita and the Catholic church. He was former
member of American Legion and VFW.
He enjoyed woodworking and making
furniture for his family. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War
II.
Other survivors include: one son, Kevin
Moore of Newton; one daughter, Maureen Razor of Hillsboro; two
brothers, Randall Moore Jr. and Waldean Moore, both of Smith Center;
two sisters, Nettie Carpenter of Wichita and Daisy Goracke of Smith
Center; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents
and one sister, Jessie Irene Terrell.
Recitation of Rosary will be 7 p.m.
Friday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home with Fr. Ken Schuckman
officiating. Graveside services and burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday
at Fairview Cemetery in Smith Center with the Fr Ken Schuckman from
St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newton officiating.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials have been established with
American Lung Association in care of the funeral home.
