Clyde O. Stone
SEDGWICK -- Clyde O. Stone, 63, of
Sedgwick, machinist for 3-Way Pattern in Wichita, died Sunday (Feb.
6, 2000) at Newton Medical Center.
He was born June 7, 1936, in Minneota,
M.N., to Clarence Orlando and Delia (Ellison) Stone. He married Irene
Dickerson May 29, 1965, in Newton. She survives of Sedgwick.
He was a member of Sacred Heart
Catholic Church in Halstead. He served on the flood control committee
for the city of Sedgwick. He enjoyed gardening and playing the stock
market.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from
1956 to 1962.
Other survivors include: two sons,
Thomas A. Stone of Newton and Kenneth P. Stone of Sedgwick; one
daughter, Maryann Base of Halstead; two sisters, Dena Bachman of New
Hampton, Iowa, and Carol Nichols of Schertz, Texas; and three
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his
parents; two brothers, Harold Stone and Earl Stone; and one sister,
Evelyn Helgeson.
Recitation of Rosary will be 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newton, which will be led by
Rev. James O'Shea from Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Halstead.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic
Church with the Revs. Ken Schuckman Celebrant and James O'Shea
Con-celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today
and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with
Kansas State University for Basic Cancer Research, St. Mary's
Catholic School or Sacred Heart Catholic Church His Caring Heart Fund
in care of the funeral home.
