Fay Louise Cravens
Fay Louise Cravens, 83, of Newton,
homemaker, died Sunday (Feb. 20, 2000) at Friendly Acres Retirement
Community.
She was born Dec. 18, 1916, in Hesston
to Lewis and Elsie (Berner) Dreyer. She married Manuel Cravens Nov.
2, 1941, in Manhattan. He survives of Newton.
She lived in the Newton area most of
her life. She was a 1934 graduate of Newton High School. She worked
at Woolworth's after high school.
She was active at Salem United
Methodist Church, Ladies Post Office Auxiliary, Harvey County
Extension Unit and Women's Missionary Society. She was a volunteer
for Meals onWheels.
Other survivors include: one son,
Robert Cravens of Los Angeles; four daughters, Susan Ringel of Sugar
Land, Texas, Ann Buller of Austin, Texas, Nancy Hillman of Kansas
City, Mo., and Alice Goering of Goessel; one brother, Don Dreyer of
La Mesa, Calif.; one sister, Eva Dreyer of Santee, Calif.; 12
grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one
brother, Richard Dreyer; and one sister, Donna Dreyer.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday at Salem United Methodist Church in Newton with the Revs.
Leroy Bott and Kent Rogers officiating. Burial will be in the Hesston
Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Tuesday with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at
Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with
the Newton Senior Center and Friendly Acres Retirement Community in
care of the funeral home.
