Marguerite Hunt
Marguerite Hunt, 96, formerly of
Tribune, died Saturday (Feb. 19, 2000) at Newton Medical Center.
She was born March 26, 1903, in Girard
to Jacob Albert and Anna Barbara (Engel) Clausen. She married Chase
Hunt Feb. 20, 1926, in Girard. He preceded her in death Aug. 1979.
She was a member of First Presbyterian
Church and and embroidery club since 1930s, both in Tribune. She also
was a member of three bridge clubs.
She was civic minded of her community
and enjoyed the Tribune Senior Center. She lived at Presbyterian
Manor in Newton since 1995. She lived and farmed in Tribune prior to
moving to Newton. She and her husband were active in the Co-op.
Survivors include: one son, Melvin
Chase Hunt of Manhattan; one daughter, Barbara Ann Decker of Wichita;
two brothers, Lawrence Clausen of Girard and George Clausen of
Milton-Freewater, Ore.; one sister, Elsie Vance of Pittsburg; four
grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and
five step-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by one
brother, Clarence Clausen; and one sister, Alma Harmon.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m.
Wednesday at Presbyterian Church in Tribune with the retired Rev.
Charlie Ayers officiating. Private family graveside will be in the
Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune.

at Petersen Funeral Home.

Tribune Senior Center and First Presbyterian Church in Tribune in
care of the funeral home.
