Hilda G. Janzen
Hilda G. Janzen, 92, died Monday (March
13, 2000) at Kidron Bethel Village in North Newton.
She was born May 3, 1907, in rural
Inman to Dietrich and Sara (Balzer) Neufeldt. She married Louis A.
Janzen Oct. 27, 1933, at Hebron Mennonite Church near Buhler. He
preceded her in death April 15, 1992.
She was a lifelong homemaker near
Elbing, then moving to North Newton. She was a member of Zion
Mennonite Church in Elbing. She served on the executive committee of
the General Conference Mennonite Church Women's Missionary
Association from 1959 to 1968. She represented the Western District
Conference. She also was a member of Newton Art Association for many
years.
Survivors include: one daughter, Sarah
Regier of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe; three sons, John Janzen and Mark
Janzen, both of rural Newton, and David Janzen of Evanston, Ill.; 11
grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m.
Saturday at Zion Mennonite Church in Elbing. Graveside service will
be 10 a.m. Saturday at the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8:30
p.m. Friday with family greeting friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday
at Lamb-Nutter Mortuary in Whitewater.
Memorials have been established with
Victim Offender Reconciliation Program, 900 N. Poplar, or Newton Area
Art Association, 128 E. Sixth, both of Newton.
