Catherine Harder Crocker
STILLWATER, Minn. -- Catherine Harder
Crocker, 80, died Thursday (March 16, 2000) in Stillwater, Minn.
She was born Aug. 14, 1919, in Newton
to Willie and Catherine (Wiebe) Harder. She married Herbert Crocker
Oct. 14, 1945, in Aberdeen, Idaho. He preceded her in death April 19,
1986.
She grew up in rural Whitewater and
attended Brainerd Grade School. She graduated from Whitewater High
School in 1938. She and her family attended Emmaus Mennonite Church,
where she was baptized. She graduated from the Bethel School of
Nursing in 1943. She became camp nurse for the CPS camp in Belton,
Mont., and the Smoke Jumpers' Unit in Missoula, Mont. After her
marriage, she spent most of her life in the Twin Cities area of
Minnesota. She was a member of the Friends' Meeting House in
Minneapolis.
Survivors include: three sons, Bert of
Selkirk, Manitoba, George of Lake Elmo, Minn., and John of Santa
Rosa, Calif.; two adopted children, Carmen and Terry, both of the
Twin Cities; two brothers, Eldon Harder and Wilfred Harder, both of
Aberdeen, Idaho; two sisters, Mildred Dahlenburg of Potwin and Wilma
M. Friesen of Newton; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m.
March 25 at the Friends' Meeting House in Minneapolis.
