Darlene M. Regier
HESSTON -- Darlene M. Regier, 73, of
Hesston, died Saturday (March 18, 2000) at Kansas Heart Hospital in
Wichita.
She was born Sept. 27, 1926, in Newton
to C.P. and Helen (Toevs) Regier.
She grew up in rural Peabody. She
graduated from Hesston Academy and later Grace Bible Institute in
Omaha, Neb. She received her nurses training in LaJunta, Colo. She
lived in Wichita and was employed at Wesley Hospital. She moved to
Hillsboro and was employed at Salem Hospital in Hillsboro, where she
retired in 1991. She then moved to Hesston.
She was a member of Emmaus Mennonite
Church in rural Whitewater. She enjoyed volunteer work at Schowalter
Villa in Hesston.
Survivors include: one brother,
Lawrence Regier of Palm City, Fla.; one sister, Dorothea Goering of
North Newton; four nephews; and three nieces.
She was preceded in death by her
parents.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday at First Mennonite Church in Newton with the Rev. Clarence
Rempel officiating. Graveside committal services will be 1:30 p.m.
Tuesday in the Emmaus Mennonite Church Cemetery in rural Whitewater.
Friends may call until 9 p.m. today
with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Broadway
Colonial Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with
Schowalter Villa in Hesston in care of the funeral home.
