Edde 'Ed' DeVore passed from this life April 23, 2014 at the Cherokee Manor after a lengthy illness. Eddie was born in Anthony July 10, 1944 to Murel and Grace "Riley" DeVore. He finished high chool in 1962 at Newton, and then went to college at Northwestern State later graduating from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Agriculture. He first taught at Holcolm, Kansas and after one years, went into the U.S. Army for three years. After his service in the Army, he went back too teaching at Newton High School. In 1980 he moved to Beloit and taught there. He went to Kanas state University and received his Master's Degree. He retired from Beloit School in 2010 after teaching for forty years, he retired and moved back to Cherokee, Oklahoma.
Survivors: two sons, Bradley DeVore and wife, Beth of Meridan, Mississippi and Douglas DeVore of Beloit; two sisters, Donna Daub and Husband Sonny of Cherokee, Oklahoma and Elaine Carroll and husband Dennis of Newton; three grandchildren; Gage, Shelby and Elizaabeth; his mother, Grace DeVore ofCherokee, many nieces nephews and many good friends.
Eddie was preceded in passing by his father, Murel DeVore and wife, Betsy DeVore.
Graveside service will be at the Halstead Cemetery where his wife Betsy is buried. Memorials may be made to Farmway Credit Union, Beloit, Kansas.
