Linda Rowland, 60, died on Monday, April 28 in Wichita. She was born November 12, 1953 to Verdun and Helen Louise (Hays) Thomas in Newton. She married David Rowland on June 21. 1975 in Newton and he survives of the home. She attended Newton Baptist churches for 50 years, but most recently attended Newton Christian Church.
Linda worked as an LPN at various healthcare centers. Later in life she became a homemaker. Linda loved animals and enjoyed broom stick crocheting. She was a loving mother and enjoyed raising her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She never met a stranger and had a great love for her two dogs, Sammy and Chesy.
Survivors: husband, David; daughter, Jill Clanton and husband, John; son, Daniel Rowland; grandchildren, Kaitlynn and Kolby Clanton; brother, Martin and Beth Thomas and sisters, Debbie and Gerry VanDerheide and twin sister, Lisa Thomas and her partner, John. Linda is also survives by numerous nieces and nephews and sister-in-laws, Sherry Rowland, Vickie Moore and Wanda Tilfoord.
Services will be May 2 at Newton Christian Church.
