Wanda Faris, 87, died Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Kidron Bethel Healthcare in North Newton. She was born February 19, 1927 in Yale, Oklahoma to Fay and Clara Canfield Kizer. On August 24, 1947 she married Albert Faris in Cedar, and he preceded her in death on December 12, 2010.
Her greatest joy was raising her family. She was a retired housekeeper for Schowalter villa in Hesston, where she worked nearly 20 years. She was a member of First Christian Church in Newton, where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Women's Christian Fellowship.
Survivors: daughters; Starla (Paul) Stewart of Saginaw, Michigan; Sheila (Bob) Duncan of Hutchison and Susan (Jason) Reardon of Newton; sons, Loyal Faris of Lincoln, Nebraska; Forrest (Virginia) Farisof Newton: Thomas Faris of Medford, Oklahoma; Garold and fiancee; Donna Farris of Bayu City, Texas; 21 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents, son, Roy Faris; granddaughter, Christina Faris and daughter-in-law, Lola Faris.
Services will be at First ChrisstianChurch in Newton. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
