Robert Charles Goering

   Robert C. Goering, 85, died at his home on Tuesday, May 6, in rural Newton.  Robert "Bob" Brown was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 18, 1928 to Samuel J. and Pauline Miller Goering.  They did mission work in China for the first seven years of Bob's Life.  They later moved to Colorado Springs and then to Newton.    Bob attended Bethel College where he met Lorene Penner.  They later married on July 31, 1949 at the Bethel College Mennonite Church in North Newton.  They have made their home in the Newton area for over 65 years.

   Bob farmed for many years and also ran a Chevrolet dealership for 16 years.  Afteer retiremennt he helped out family whenever needed.

   Survivors: wife, Lorene Goering; children; Scott Goering; Bev Martinez and Triisha Grosch and husbnd, Doug; six grandchildren and nine greaat grandchildren.

   Grave side committal services will be May 12, 2014 at Greenwood Cemetery.
