Sara C. (Blythe) Kerstetter, 81, passed away April 30, 2014 at Kansas Christian Home. She was born January 2, 1933 to Cephas and Lottie May Blythe near Wilsey. She grew up with 3 sisters and 5 brothers. She met Ray Kerstetter in a roller skating rink in 1946 and they married June 11, 1950 in a small coountry church called Pleasant Ridge near Alta Vista.
Sara and Ray attended Manhattan Christian College in Manhattan where she worked in the college kitchen. She spent her life as a pastor's wife. She enjoyed helping Ray at the Christian Hills Church Camp near Eureka. She owned here own ceramic business at one time. She cooked for many years at a Eureka nursing home before Ray retired from the ministry. They spent winters in South Texas near Rock Port where Sara collected shells from the beach.
Sara is survived by husband, Ray; 3 children; Daniel (Glenda) Kerstetter, of Leon; Terri (Riley) Carrier, Tarpon Springs, Florida; Timothy (Lynda) Kerstetter, of Augusta; daughter-in-law Carol Kerstetteer, Independence; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Surving siblings: Elaine Blanton, Alma; Andrew Blythe, Council Grove; Robert Blythe, Grove, Oklahoma; Audrey Wheeling, Longmont, Colorado; Donald Blythe, Winchester, Kentucky and Cecil Blythe,Thornton, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her son, Bruce Kerstetter; granddaughter, Lynette DaPron; brother, Bill Blythe and her parents.
Services will be May 5, 2014 at First Christian Church, Newton. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
