Ronald J. Werner, 75, ATSF railroad general foreman, died Friday, May 2, 2014 in Pratt County, Kansas. He was born September September 11, 1938 at Bellefont to Joseph Anthony and Helen Louise Burkhart Werner.
He was a resident of the Halstead and Newton areas for over 50 years. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church,, Knights of Columbus and Ruth-Wilson American Legion Post 231 of Halstead.
Survivors: sons, Ricky (Karen) Werner, Bel Aire; Troy Werner, Ft. Worth, Texas; John (Coleen) Werner, Halstead; Matt (Tami) Werner, Halstead; brother; Thomas (Jane) Werner, Offerle; sisters, Sue (Freddie) Karmer, Cimarron; Marietta (John) Strecker, Colby; 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Rosary was May and a memorial mass was May 7, both at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial was in Halstead Cemetery.
