Loran Fredrick Wilkens, 96, died May 31 a Schowalter Villa in Hesston. He was born January 8, 1918 in Newton to William and Olive Glee Wilkens. He married Jean Moore on June 20, 1941 and they were married for almost 65 years until her death on May 19, 2001.
Loran retired from Beech Aircraaft Industries where he worked in the data processing department as a supervisor. He enjooyed gardening, model trains and beina an active memberof his church. He enjoyed family vacations which were almost always in Colorado.
Survivors: sons, David A. Wilkens of Burlington; two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Wilkens; parents and brother, Clifford Ray Wilkens and sisters Mildred Lantis and Hazel Burnett.
Services will be June 4 at Hesston United Methocisst Church in Hesston. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
