Mary “Rena” Smith died on June 12, 2014 in Newton, Kansas.
Mary was
born on March 24, 1941 in Amarillo, Texas to Ross and Rena Alice Floyd. She married Robert Everett Smith and was married for 46 years prior to his death. Rena was a multi-talented artist and taught private art lessons. She
was active in the Cub and Girl Scouts and the Christian Women’s
Fellowship.
She is survived by her children: Briant C. Smith; Stacey C. (Smith)
Gill, daughter in law, Tanya Smith, and son in law, Evan Gill. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, on Friday, June 20th at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. There is no visitation.A memorial has been set up for Caring Hands-Humane Society of Newton.
