Cordelia Johnson Ricketts was born December 11, 1846 in Switzerland county, Indiana. She was married to G. W. Ricketts December 15, 1868 and moved to Kansas in 1879; and has resided in Newton and vicinity ever since. She passed away at Bethel Hospital May 21 1909 after an illness of several months. She was the mother of three children, two of whom survive her, likewise her husband and a large number of relatives and friends mourn her loss.
