JoAnne Sloan Wright Moore was born March 3, 1933 in Newton to Elva and Finis Sloan. She died July 15, 2014 in Newton after a valiant fight agaiinst Alzheimere's Disease.
She led a wondeerfully full life, balancing her friends and family and faith. She graduated from Newton High School in 1951 as Salutatorian of her class and that same year married William G. (Bill) Wright. She was one of the early working moms, raising three kids with Bill and at the same time had her own distinguished career that ended with her retirement as a legal secretary from Strasburger and Price.
After Bill/s death, she married Harvey Moore in 1994 and they spent many wonderful years together travelinng.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Bill Wright and Harvey Moore and her brother, Harold Sloan.
Survivors: son, Rick Wright; daughter Kaathy Thomas; son, Mike Wright and numerous grandchildren.
In honor of JoAnne, the JoAnne Moore Fund for Children has been estaablished at the UNT Speech and Hearing Center.
