Obituary

George Allen Liggett, 51, of Newton died Thursday (August 7, 2014) at the Newton Medical Center.

He was born on June 8, 1963 in Newton. George attended Berean Academy and Newton High School. He served a short time in the U. S. Army.  George had worked in Custom Cutting and was a truck driver. Through the years he hunted and fished with his father. He loved animals, motorcycles and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his daughter LaKrista Liggett of Sylvia, Ks.; mother, Doris Mae (Haas) Liggett; sister Linette Martin; niece Lauren Martin; nephews Garrett and Justin Martin all of Newton.  George is preceded in death by his father, Walter George Liggett.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday (August 15, 2014) at the Meridian Baptist Church in Newton. Graveside and interment services will be at 1:30 P.M., Friday at the Whitewater Center Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday 1pm til 8pm where the family will receive friends between 6 and 8pm. Arrangements are by Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton.
