Sanceda, Patrick

The Newton Kansan

   Patrick Sauceda, 55, of Newton, died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.  He was born February 28, 1959 in Newton, son of Nicholas P. and Carmen Llamas Saauceda.  A lifelong resident of Newton, Patrick graduated from Newton High School in 1977.  He married Bobbi Breon on August 12, 1983 in North Newton, they were maried for 19 years.

   Patrick had worked for theCity of Newton Street Department for several years, he later owned and operated Can Do Cleaniing Comany and enjoyed doing handi-man work in the past few years.

   On July 4th of this year, he was inducted into the Newton Mexican-American Fast Pitch Hall of Fame.  It was a lifelong dream of his since he had begun playing ball as a young child and continued throughout his life.  As part of the local Fast Pitch team, Patrick had traveled through the United States and in 1997 he and the  team playied in the Men's Fast Pitch World Tournment in El Paso, Texas.

   Survivors: his children, Cassandra (Ben) Davis, Goessel; Ashley Sauceda and Finance Brandon Hessman and Samuel Saudea and companion Sarah McClure, all of Newton; his mother, Carmen Sauceda of the home; brother Daniel Sauceda; sisters, Cynthia Sanchez and Linda Lemus all of Newton; 6 grandchilldren.  He was preceded in death by his father in 1996,

   Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Friday July 25, 2014 followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at  10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church Cemetery in Newton.

  There will be no visitation as cremation has been effected.
