Obituary

Jack Russell Miller, 61, of rural Geuda Springs, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at the home of Bill and Robin Ford, where Jack had happily lived for the last few years of his life.

Jack was born on Jan. 31, 1953, in Halstead, to Jack and Helen (Luginbill) Miller Sr. Jack was a Downs Syndrome baby and was the joy of everyone with whom he came in contact. Jack was cared for throughout his life by various family members who considered it a blessing.

Jack loved his family and friends, listening to music and singing along.  He especially enjoyed wearing his hats, writing and coloring, giving and receiving big hugs and being the center of attention. Many of us remember his gleeful rubbing together of his hands when tickled.

Jack is survived by a sister: Pam Eshom of Topeka, and many cousins and second cousins who adored and will miss him.  Jack was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Ivan "Ike" Williams; and a brother, Nate Williams.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at Halstead Cemetery, Halstead, with Father Edmond Kline officiating.  Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead
