Fred Lanciing Pollard was born at the old Pollard homesteaad , this county, on December 5, 1881. In 1901 he became a Christian and a member of the Christian church. Since that time he has continued a member and has been a willing helper for the church.
On May 6, 1903 he married Rosella Charlotte Anderrson. To this union were born 6 children, 5 are still living. The oldest died on January 5th of this year. Not long aago Mr. Pollard whom everybody in town affectionally called Fred, began to complain of not felling very well and was later confined to his bed with typhoid fever. Most of his friends did not suspect anything very serious but at 3:00 in the morning of the 23rd of September he fell asleep.
The whole comunity is shocked. The town has lost a most usefull citizen the church a most loyal supporter and the family a most loveable husband and father. His friends are legion and all unite in extending sympathy to the members of the stricken home.
Funeral services took place at the Christian church. The sermon being preached by Emphres.
