Mary Elizabeth Bishop was born in Washington County, Pennsylvania on September 6, 1844 and departed this life March 29, 1914, aged 69 years, 6 months and 23 days.
When she was ten or twelve years of age she moved with her parents to Illinois. In 1869, on the 6th day of January, she was united in marriage with John Richardson, an Ohioan who had lately moved to Marshall County, Illinois. In 1879 a brother and sister Richardson moved to Iowa tro Taylor County, where they resided until 1901, when they moved to Jackson County, Kansas. In 1907 they came to Burrton where they have since lived. Not having been blesseds with any chidren, William Richardson and his sister, now Anna Williams, both of Iowa.
In her girlhood Mrs. Richardson was converted to Godand united with the church of her parents, the Methodist Church. Latger, whenn in Iowa she transferred her membership of Disciple church. This last year she has been a frequent worshiper with the Methodist people of our village, her last day with them being three weeks ago last Sabbath just a day of two before her lst sickness seized her.
Dedication Sabbath she had herself propped up in her chair and placed by the east wiindow where she could watch the people attending the services of the day. That same afternoon the Methodist pastor slsipped in to see heer, to whom she said that she was well, In her last week her faith failed not. She is not here, for God came and has taken her.
