Pollard, Alta May

   Alta May Pollard, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Fred Pollard, died January 5, 1918, aged 8 years, 7 months and 10 days.  She came to her death by a complication of diseases as a result of scarlet fever.   She was ill nearly 3 months, never fully recoveriing from the fever and other diseases taking hold of her little body her vitality gradually wasted till she could resist no longer.  The brow cooled in death and the spirit took its flight to the God who gave it.

   Alta was a star in her home and her loving disposition won her a warm place in the hearts of all who knew her and will continue to live in many hearts.

   Funeral services were held at the Christian Church last Monday.  Miss Kyner, who taught Alta;s room, dismissed school and atteneded the funeral with the entire class and the girls sang "Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam:,  The body was laid to rest in Hillside Cemetery.

   We say not farewell, little dear, but hold you in happy remembrance till we mjeet in the soul's Beulah Land.
