Obituary

LaDonna Joyce Harris of Emporia, Kansas, entered into rest early Tuesday morning, Sept. 16, 2014, at Flint Hills Care Center. She was 69.

LaDonna was born Nov. 16, 1944, in Emporia, Kansas, to Noble Warren and "Ruth" Anna Florence (Brockelman) Searcy. She worked as a CNA.

LaDonna is survived by her son, Christopher (Debra) Harris of Wichita; daughter, Donna Sue (Wayne) Gooch of Dunsmuir, CA; sisters, Sue (David) Weishaar of Wichita, and Sheryl Blome of Madison; 9 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Noble and Ruth Searcy; and her husband, Harold Harris.

Visitation will take place at Charter Funerals in Emporia, Kansas, on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Charter Funerals in Emporia. The graveside service will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, on Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at 12:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Lyon County Humane Society in care of Charter Funerals.
