Peterson, Margaret

The Newton Kansan

Margaret "Marty" Louise Zuercher Peterson died September 10, 2014 at the Bandera Rehabilitation Center in Bandera, TX.

Born in 1960 in Wichita, KS, Marty and her brother Jeff began their lives and schooling together in Newton, KS. In youth, the two were taken from their Newton home to live in Texas where Marty remained for life.  After completing her education, she married and had children Eric and Sam. Their family's life was filled with happiness and laughter.  She enjoyed nature in all its glory! Attending to her flowers, plants, and bushes were a few of her gardening pleasures. She also loved fishing and boating. Home life suited Marty very well.  Their children often brought home friends for sleep-overs and weekend stays. She loved to cook and look after them. Marty will be remembered most for her natural, outgoing personality that made her fun to be around and a friend to all.

Marty is survived by her husband Mark Peterson and sons Eric (and Kimberly) Carter & Sam Peterson of Bandera, TX; father Bill Zuercher of Newton, KS; brothers Jeff Zuercher (and Linda) of Wichita, KS, John Dietrich (and Francisco) of Houston, TX & Christian (and Lori) Zuercher of Newton, KS; Aunt Lou and Uncle Jim Vaughn of Newton, KS; additional family live throughout Kansas and Texas. Marty was preceded in death by her mother Jo and mom Lillian.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at Pipe Creek Presbyterian Church, Pipe Creek, TX on Sunday, September 21, at 4:00 PM. Memorials may be addressed to The Michael J.
