Obituary

Lee Richards, 81, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Schowalter Villa, Hesston, Kansas.

He was born on September 24, 1932, the only child of Leon F. and Agatha I. (Radell) Richards in Rome, New York. He was united in marriage to Donna Overton on December 4, 1982, in Hesston, KS.  Lee's business career was in financial services and product marketing, including management positions in the Denver, CO office of CCEC, and was a vice president of the organization in Baltimore, MD. He joined Hesston (KS) Corp. to form and manage their new credit company.

Left to cherish Lee's memory is his wife, Donna; daughters Pam Long, Castle Rock, CO; Lori (Bryan) Swanson, Littleton, CO; Diane (J.L.) Webber, Loveland, CO; and Nancy (Dr. Daniel) Dwyer, Centennial, CO; step-son Tony (Yvonne) Overton, Buhler, KS; nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, cousins, and a favorite aunt, Mary Louise Chapman, Berkeley, CA.

A celebration of Lee's life will be held on Friday, September 26, 2014, in the Schowalter Villa Chapel, Hesston, KS with Pastor Nancy Modin and Father Jim Mainzer officiating. Visitation with family will be at 10:00 a.m. with the service at 10:30 a.m. A military graveside committal will follow at Valley View Cemetery, Roxbury, KS.  Memorial contributions in Lee's name are suggested to the Good Samariton Fund at Schowalter Villa, Hesston, or to the Roxbury United Parish in Roxbury, and may be sent in care of Miller-Ott Funeral Home, 107 S.
