Venso, Myrtle
Myrtle Harrietta (Theander) Venso entered eternal rest on September 22, 2014 at her home in Asbury Park in Newton.
Myrtle
was born on July 5, 1914 to Carl and Emma (Gutsch) Theander in
Lincolnville, Kansas. The family moved and lived in Ashland and Marion
County for many years. On March 29, 1936 she married Neil Venso
in Newton, where they lived and raised their family. Myrtle worked for
the Spangler Care Home, Bethel Deaconess Care Home, and Friendly Acres. She
was a faithful member of the Church of God, E.U.B., and Salem United
Methodist Church. She was involved with the Women's Circle, Brother of
Railway Clerks Auxiliary and a volunteer for the Red Cross. On July 5, 2014 she became a centurion and celebrated her 100th birthday with her loving family and friends. Everyone that knew Myrtle would agree
that "she was not stubborn, but very strong willed!" She was loved and
will be missed by many.
She
is survived by her two daughters: Virginia Soyez and spouse, Joe, and
Marjorie Keasling and spouse, Donald; son: Wayne Venso and spouse,
Brenda; ten grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and seventeen
great-great grandchildren and many friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband: Neil Venso; parents: Carl and Emma Theander; and two brothers.
A
graveside memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 PM, Monday, September
29, 2014 at Greenwood Cemetery. A memorial has been set up for the Good
Shepherd Hospice of Kansas.
