Obituary

Gregory James Osbourn passed from this life on Oct. 4, 2014.

He was born on March 28, 1959, to Herman Osbourn and Fran Ames in Arkansas City. Greg attended Emporia High School where he was an All State Golfer, graduating in 1977. He then attended Emporia State University from 1978-1981 earning All-American Honors in 1980 and 1981 in golf.  Greg was a teaching professional for 28 years in the Kansas City and Wichita areas. He then went to work for Dick's Sporting Goods for more than 10 years. Greg was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his mother, Fran Ames; father, Herman "Swede" Osbourn and stepmother, Joann; sister, Vicki Ramsey; brother, Kevin Ames; and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday (October 8, 2014) at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Petersen Funeral Home, with burial following at Halstead Cemetery, Halstead.
