Obituary

Cindy Jo Schowalter, 56 of Kansas City, Kansas went to be with her Savior after a short illness on Sunday (July 12, 2009).

She was born on Dec. 12, 1952, in Newton to Aldine and Esther Schowalter of Burrton. Cindy was a 1970 graduate of Burrton High School. She was owner and operator of Sweet Land of Fantasy in Kansas City, Kan., where she used her decorating talents, making and baking all kinds of sweets. She catered many wedding cakes.

Cindy leaves many relatives, friends and clients. She will be greatly missed. Survivors are her son, Travis and his wife, Suzanne, Schowalter of Overland Park;her mother, Esther Schowalter of Burrton; and one brother, Bruce Schowalter of Roeland Park. Her father, Aldine Schowalter, and a sister, Judy Lynn Schowalter, preceded her in death.

Cremation has taken place. Grave site memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at West Zion Cemetery in Moundridge with Pastor Jim Dunn officiating.
